Helios Wools
Healthy Attributes
Creating a home we feel good about requires the use of materials that promote our family's health and well-being. Helios Wools go beyond the floor to improve the quality, safety, and comfort of your home.
- Helios Wools work to improve air quality by absorbing common contaminants, such as formaldehyde (a common pollutant emitted by building materials), nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide, by binding the gases irreversibly in its structure.
- Helios Wools create a more balanced environment by absorbing vapor from the air in humid conditions and then releasing it when the atmosphere becomes dry.
- Helios Wools do not support combustion. The high moisture content of the fiber, along with wool's protein constituents, gives Helios Wools excellent flame resistance. It is difficult to ignite and is self-extinguishable.
- Wool is a non-allergenic fiber and does not promote the growth of bacteria or dust mites or give off harmful emissions. In fact, Helios Wools minimize allergic reactions since it is able to hold dust in its structure until it is removed by vacuum (or wet) cleaning.
- Helios Wools are safe for people with asthma since the fibers are to long and coarse to be inhaled.
- Helios Wools are bulky and resilient with superior sound and insulation properties.
